Manasalu Trekking is an excellent trekking route across the Nepalese Himalayas in Nepal. This challenging journey around mount Manasalupasses through the inaccessible highlands of Nepal.Most hikers have a lifelong desire to complete the Manasalu Trek.

This trip offers a beautiful mountain experience as you pass through the high Himalayas of Nepal.Mount Manaslu, with a height of 8,163 m, goes around by trekking.Manasalu Trek also has a trekking trail that follows the historic salt trade route alongthe lovely Budi Gandaki River.The trekkers can experience the stunning Himalayan terrain, high-altitude glaciers, diverse Tibetan culture, and rare species, among other things. As the trek passes through the Manaslu Conservation, you will have the opportunity to see wild Himalayan Thar or blue sheep.The highest point on the trekking is the Larkya La Pass (5,160 m), one of the longest passes in Nepal.

The entire journey, from Kathmandu to departure, takes 16 days.During your stay in Kathmandu valley, you will visit Bhaktapur, a historic city close to Kathmandu, and Boudhanath, one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites, on your first day of arrival.The trip officially begins on the third day with a daily hike of 6 to 8 hours after driving to Barpak the following day.

Now we will trek to Laprak, Khorlabensi, and Jagat.Beginning at Jagat, the Manaslu Conservation Area introduces you to the Himalayan wildlife and vegetation you’ve never seen before. On the 8th day, you will reach Lho via Dyang and Namrung.At Lho, you can enjoy the magnificent views of Himchuli Himal, Naiki Himal, and Manasalu.The next day, you will trek to Samagaon and view Ngadi Chuli with an optional visit to Kungen Nunnery. You will also have an acclimatization day at Samagaon. You can take this time to visit Birendra Lake for a day hike.
Trekking to Samdo on the 10th day and Dharamsala the next day. These days are like a day preparatory for the Larkya La Pass (5,160 m).
On the 12th day, you will cross the Larkya La Pass, the highest and the most challenging trekking part. Then get off at Bhimthang. The next day, we will trek to Dharapani and officially end the trekking.On the 14th day, you will drive to Kathmandu, rest, and do some shopping.

TRIP ITINERARY

As you will arrive in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by our agent from preciousadventures at the Kathmandu International Airport and then you will move to the hotel. You will be for a short time described about your travel around and then rest at the Hotel. Overnight at hotel.
You will have an awesome experience to going around Kathmandu valley for sightseeing. Specially, the tour includes visit to cultural heritage sites enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage list. In Kathmandu – you will visit the Hindus’ holiest place Pashupatinath; the world’s major Stupa, Boudhanath; Swoyambhunath Stupa which is popular as monkey temple falls at the hillock; and historical Kathmandu Durbar Square. In Bhaktapur, you will explore Bhaktapur Durbar Square and see the beauty of different shrines having attractive arts. Similar experience can be expected when visiting Patan Durbar Square. Overnight at hotel again.
From Kathmandu we will move to Aarughat by our office accessibility with a beautiful view of Annapurna, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and Langtang Himal as well as magnificent view and terrace, lush hills on the way until Dhading Besi. We will continue our drive to Soti khola via Arughat by jeep along the Budhigandaki River. Overnight at Soti khola.
Finally we will start our destination to Machha khola. We will walk to Gurung Village Lapu Besi through the geroge, rocky trail, rice field and shorea Robusta. We will have our lunch in Labu Beshi. We will further continue our journey enjoying the beautiful natural waterfall from suspension bridge. We will see the north east face of Ganesh himal from machha khola. Overnight at Machha Khola.
Today we will walk partly through Small Forest, Grassland, Corn and Cereals Fields. We will walk along the Budhi Gandaki River and at the bottom of the valley we will reach the hot springs in Tatopani and later the place Doban (about 1,100 m) where we will take lunch break. Afterward through Caliber Bridge in Yaru Bagar, the path leads over the roaring water before the valley suddenly opens and widens. Through this contrasting landscape, we will continue to the Gurung settlement Jagat (about 1,350 m).Jagat is the entry point of Manaslu Conservation Area. We rest here for the night.
Today we will enter to the restricted areas of Manaslu Trekking from Jagat permit check point where we will show our permits of Manaslu restricted area and MCAP. We will walk moderately ascending to Sallari and descend downward to Sirdibas. After crossing suspension bridge we will climb up to Phillim and further to Eklebhatti for lunch break. We will cross wooden bridge in Budhigandaki to the Nyak Phedi through pine forest and himalayan bambos. From next settlement Pewa, we will reach to Deng in an hour with the view of Shringi Himal and Ganesh Himal. The village Dang is a Buddhist village where we can observe the Buddhist Shrine Stupa and Maniwalls. Stay overnight at Deng.
We will cross the Budhi Gandaki several times through wooden bridge of Budhi Gandaki, we will ascend up to Ranagaun and further to Bihi Phedi. We will go further to Ghap either direct trail or through Prok where we will have lunch. Our route leads to the village Lungachet to Namrung through the Pine and Rhododendron and oak forest. We will see Potato, Corn and Barley and Cereals Field in our journey. The Maniwalls, Chorten , Monastery and Tibetan origin Sherpas and Gurung ethnic settlement and their culture, traditions and practices are the major attraction in our journey.
Today’s route leads through Coniferous, Oak forest to the beautiful Bhotia Village Li, So, Lo and finally to Syala with the feeling of nice view of Manaslu, Himchuli and Neike Himal. After walking 4 hrs, we will take lunch break as well as we will visit shortly to the Monastery of Lo. Then we walk further 2 hours to Shyala. There are possibilities to see the wild animals like Himalayan Thar, Musk Deers and soon. Stay overnight at Syala.
Today we are heading to Samagaun. The route lead to Pungyen(bracelet ) Lake and further to Pungyen Gunpa which is the nice view point of Glacier, Manaslu main summit(8156m) as well as Nadi Chuli. If you want to take short way, it will take 3 hr to Samagoun. Sometime we may encounter with domestic animal Yak/Nak, Horse etc.
Sama Gaun is ancient settlement of Tibetan origin ethnic group. Their custom, culture, traditions, dress etc are similar to Tibetan tribes. The village is surrounded by Monastery, Chorten, Mani Walls and Mani Mantras and Prayer Flags. We will visit these monuments and it makes you feel like local people. Or if you wish to do some more activities, we can go for day hiking to Birendra Lakes where probably we may see Blue Sheep and other wild animal. We will move back through same trail to Samagaoun.
We will walk further north to Samdo leaving Manaslu base camp trail to the left side through Conifer Trees, Yak and Horse grazing area. After crossing the wooden bridge, we climb up to Samdo. We will have our Lunch and overnight at Samdo. The free afternoon serves us for further acclimatization.
Gradually we will walk to Tibetan seasonal market crossing the wooden bridge of Budhi Gandaki for the final time. We will continue moderate ascending to Dharmasala enjoying the scenery view of Manaslu and Neike Hiamal. Then further to Samdo. Today, we will stay overnight in tent instead of home stay. Lunch and overnight at Dharmasala. Through we have time at afternoon will save the energy for next day pass of larkya- pass.
Today is our most adventurous day in our whole trekking. We will start our trip early in the morning through glacier trail. We ascend gradually until to the pass. We will have magnificient view of Larkye Peak, Lamjung Himal, Annapurna ii , Ratna Chuli, Cheo Himal and Manaslu and many more. We descend downward until Bimthang which is surrounded by a magnificent glacier.Bhimthang is located between Bhimtang Glacier and the slopes of Larke Himal. Stay overnight at Bhimthang.
After having breakfast, we will descend downward to the south direction towards village Yak kharka and further to Kharche where we will have lunch break. Afterwards we will head to Gho (Goa) village where some Tea House and Yak Shed can be seen. From here, we can enjoy great views of Mt. Manaslu, Lamjung Himal, Himlung Himal and Cheo Himal. We hike further down to Tilje with the view of Barley, Potato, Corn and Cereals Terrace. Overnight at Tilije.
After walking an hour from Tilje to Dharapani, we will arrive on the way to Annapurna Circuit. We will show our special permits as well as ACAP permits in Dharapani. We will further descend down to a beautiful village Tal in the Bank of Marsyangdi River. Today, we will cross Marsyangdi River several times. After having lunch in Tal, we will walk further down to Jagat. Overnight at Jagat.
After breakfast, we will walk downward to Sangye Village where we will cross Marsyangdi River once again. The route leads to Bahundanda through Ghermu Village where we will take lunch break. Along the Marsyangdi River we will walk further down to Bulbule where we may stay overnight. Or directly drive from Sangy to Besishahar by Jeep trail.
Today we will start jeep drive to Beshisahar and from besishahar either we take local bus or private vehicles to Kathmandu. It takes about 7-8 hrs until Kathmandu and check in to Hotel.

Food and Accommodation
Typical food for this trek is Nepalese Dal Bhat which is made of rice, lentils, and veggies.

The Tea house menu is also available for hikers to pick from. Typical dishes include omelets, bread, boiled eggs, noodle soup, and vegetarian curry.

Purely vegetarian or vegan food is also available on the hike.

Rooms are typically shared accommodations. Private room facilities are available in some locations for an additional cost.

Most tea shops in theManasalu region have western-style toilets with cold running water. Hot showers are available, but there is an additional charge to use them.

Best Season for the trek
The best seasons for trekkingManasalu Trek are spring (February through May) and autumn (September through December).

While the monsoons are not suitable for traversing the routes because the hillsides are not suitable for trekkers, the winters are cold, and the weather appears undesirable for hiking.

So, hiking is generally recommended in spring and autumn. During this time, you can enjoy the best views of the mountains, and the temperatures are pleasant.

TheManasalu Trekking is a moderate to difficult grade trek at the foot of Mt.Manasalu.

It is a tough climb for 12 days, with the altitude from the lowest point to the highest point of the trekkingrising by 1,528 m.

The most challenging day of the entire trek is when you cross the Larkya La Pass. A relaxation day at Samdo makes this quite simple.

Health and Safety along the trail
Many health centersprovide primary medical care. In an emergency, you can plan your return to Kathmandu.

Make sure you have filled your prescription in the city because it’s conceivable that the typical medicines you need won’t be available.

For emergency medical care, helicopter rescue can carry out rescue operations.

Water for personal hygiene is readily available along the route. The toilet is basic but clean.

Despite being simple, the restrooms are clean. Hot showers are available for a reasonable fee.Hot showers are available at an affordable price.
